Description

This article disusses the rapid growth of the coastal urban centres in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa, and the impact of the coastal tourism sector including the producing vast quantities of pollution from untreated domestic sewage and posing a threat to the near-shore habitats such as coral reefs.
