This Solimar International toolkit includes two different publications developed with support of USAID aimed at linking tourism and conservation in a sustainable way including six conservation models that link sustainable tourism, biodiversity conservation, and community development and a framework for responding rapidly to crises originating for tourism and visitation.
These aquatic resource management toolkits are designed with a “train the trainers” approach in mind. The audience for these toolkits are the individuals and organizations providing the technical support to ensure those communities and entrepreneurs are successful. While these toolkits do not span the entire breadth of the complex tourism industry, they do provide insight into four of the most critical aspects of sustainable tourism development including: business planning, operations and management, staff training, and sales and marketing
